Board-Certified Civil Trial Lawyer | Trusted Advocate for the Seriously Injured
With nearly 30 years of experience in personal injury litigation, Keith Vance is one of Colorado’s most seasoned and respected trial attorneys. He is one of only five attorneys in Colorado who are Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, a distinction he has held since 2013. Mr. Vance devotes his practice exclusively to representing individuals who have been seriously injured due to the negligence or misconduct of others. His areas of expertise include:
- Automobile, semi-truck, and motorcycle collisions
- Nursing home negligence and elder abuse
- Insurance bad faith
- Premises liability and dangerous property conditions
Keith has successfully litigated complex personal injury cases involving traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, paralysis (quadriplegia and paraplegia), amputation, orthopedic trauma involving shoulders, knees, neck and back, and severe psychological injuries—securing millions upon millions of dollars in compensation for his clients.
Over the course of his distinguished career, Mr. Vance has taken over 70 cases to jury verdict, demonstrating a depth of trial experience that few attorneys can match. A native of the San Luis Valley, Mr. Vance grew up on a cattle ranch near Manassa, Colorado. He earned his undergraduate degree from Adams State College in 1994 and worked full-time—often as an over-the-road semi-truck driver—to put himself through school. He graduated with honors from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1997, where he clerked for the Honorable Donald Endacott in Lincoln.
Mr. Vance began his legal career defending negligent drivers and insurance companies at the Colorado Springs firm of Wittman & McCord. There, he learned how the insurance industry evaluates claims and looks at personal injury cases. In 2000, he made a decisive shift: he left defense work to dedicate his career to representing injured individuals—a commitment he has never wavered from. His insight into the “other side” of the case has served him well over the years to understand why the insurance adjusters and attorneys look at cases the way they do.
In 2005, Keith was selected to attend the renowned Trial Lawyers College founded by Gerry Spence, an intensive, invitation-only program for trial lawyers who represent people—not corporations.
Mr. Vance is licensed to practice in Colorado and is an active member of the:
- Colorado Trial Lawyers Association
- Colorado Bar Association
- American Association for Justice (formerly Association of Trial Lawyers of America)
Through a combination of deep legal expertise, hard-earned trial experience, and a steadfast commitment to ethical advocacy, Keith D. Vance has built a reputation as a trusted, authoritative voice in personal injury law—and a relentless champion for the injured.
