Brandon Calloway

Criminal Defense Trial Lawyer | U.S. Navy Veteran

Brandon Calloway is a Colorado Springs criminal defense attorney who represents individuals charged with DUI, domestic violence, assault, and other offenses in El Paso County and across Southern Colorado. Before joining Maher & Maher Law, Brandon served as a Deputy Public Defender in Colorado Springs, where he defended hundreds of clients and earned a reputation for meticulous preparation, strategic and tenacious courtroom advocacy, and uncompromising commitment to the accused, standing beside them at the most challenging moments of their lives.

Brandon’s approach is direct: identify the weaknesses in the State’s case, dismantle them systematically, and protect the client’s liberty and future at every stage. He has tried cases to juries, litigated suppression motions involving unlawful stops, Miranda violations, and forensic issues, and secured acquittals in contested DUI, domestic violence, and assault cases. This experience forged Brandon into a calm, focused, and tactical trial lawyer—one whose practice is built on rigorous investigation, disciplined case analysis, and presenting a clear, credible defense that holds the government to its burden.

Before becoming an attorney, Brandon served 10 years in the United States Navy as a non-commissioned officer, deploying to the Middle East as a tactical air controller and subject-matter expert in air defense operations. His decade of naval service instilled the discipline, steadiness under pressure, and constitutional conviction that he now brings to every client and every courtroom battle.

Brandon believes clients deserve more than a lawyer who simply “handles” their case—they deserve an advocate who stands with them. He is known for being straightforward with his clients, fully prepared in every case, and deeply invested in ensuring they understand the process, the strategy, and the stakes. For Brandon, trust is built through honest communication, diligence, and showing up for clients when it matters most.

Brandon earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming College of Law, where he served as a student attorney in both the Wyoming and Colorado State Public Defender Offices, served as President of the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association – Student Chapter, and was awarded the Terry Mackey Trial Scholarship for excellence in trial advocacy. He lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, Shelby, and their daughter. He spends his free time exploring the outdoors, training in the gym, spending quality time with family, and chasing the next challenge that sharpens his edge as a trial lawyer.
